When people have panic attacks, they make it worse by panicking about the attack itself. Stop thinking negative thoughts immediately. Thoughts like, “I’m having a heart attack!” or “I’m going to die!” are very common for people going through a panic attack. The next step to stop panic attacks after blocking negative thoughts is to think positively. Reinforce your belief in yourself, and that you’re strong and can handle things. Tell yourself, “Oh, this is just another panic attack; it’s not a big deal”. Remember that you’ve gone through this before and that it’ll subside after a while. Before you know it, it’ll be over and you’ll easily stop panic attacks.
